Arise King David…..MC, Producer and Hip Hopper extraordinaire!
An artist for Hip Hop purists, Arise King David has served the UK Hip Hop scene for the last 13 years with versatile flows, conscious content and some of the hardest beats you will hear anywhere.
Under the names Flawless and then Darknight, his MC'ing talents have seen him take the stage at various venues across the UK and open shows for the likes of Akon and The Game. Hip-hop doyens such as DJ 279 on his Friday Night Flavas' Hip Hop show on Choice FM and Tim Westwood on his BBC Radio 1 show have also endorsed his rap skills.
Following a hiatus in 2006 to focus on gaining a qualification in sound engineering and music tech, Arise King David went on to co-found DM Sound Design. DM Sound Design is a company specialising in audio post production, music composition and sound design for TV, film, radio, theatre computer games etc. During this time he worked on a number of award winning projects.
2012 marked the renaissance of Arise King David with his debut solo project, an LP entitled 'Free Music'. Taking a year and a half to craft and nurture it, Free Music received great reviews and was touted as 'a future UK classic' in Hip Hop blogs.
This was followed up by the release of a mixtape entitled 'Between Projects' mixed by Itch FM's Mr Dex. Both projects are available for free download.
New York
In October 2013 Arise King David took a sojourn to New York, the mecca of Hip Hop; where he linked up with AG of DITC in the Bronx. He took a tour of the Mott Haven and Patterson projects and recorded a music video for their single 'No Mercy' produced by Australian producer, Deepstar.
'No Mercy' is a social commentary in which both emcees make it clear they grant no clemency to those who would oppress them. As the hook goes:
"No Mercy for the wicked who try to hurt me. Touch my family I'm fighting dirty"
The single is taken from the Collaborative project entitled 'Universal Language' brought to you by Deepstar and Arise King David due for release later this year. It features collaborations with Sadat X, Tragedy Khadafi Masta Ace and more. Stay tuned.
